Trashumantes

Valparaíso Region, Chile 2019-2022

The Trashumantes project is an independent multidisciplinary research process, over a period of three years between 2019 and 2022. Within this research, archaeology, anthropology and art are linked. The investigation begins with four expeditions to territory inhabited by the Aconcagua culture during the years 900 and 1536, georeferencing ceremonial sites, petroglyphs and ancient routes. Then, the material discovered on the ground was classified, various hypotheses were developed and the construction of four sculptures made with dead wood donated by the inhabitants of this same territory began. These sculptures were exhibited as a traveling exhibition.
