Valentín Salinas Zamora, born in 1987 in San Felipe, Chile, is a multidisciplinary artist. At the age of 11, he decided to leave formal education behind to immerse himself in the world of art, guided by the renowned painter Raúl Pizarro at his “Open-Air Painting Academy.” Over the course of a decade, Valentín underwent this unique experience, first as an apprentice and later as an assistant instructor. This early decision marked the beginning of an intensive training that would lead him to explore various artistic disciplines.

In 2007, he enrolled in the School of Fine Arts in Valparaíso to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Art, specializing in Sculpture and broadening his aesthetic vision through three-dimensional language. His painting work gained recognition in 2011, when he won second place in the Juan F. Gonzáles National Painting Contest with the piece “La Espera” (“The Wait”). Valentín’s pictorial work focuses on the exploration of human intimacy, conveying feelings such as loneliness, nostalgia, and blurred visions that refer to everyday situations. Among the techniques he employs are tempera and oil painting.

The following year, he was awarded a consular scholarship that allowed him to begin studies in Architecture at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina, further expanding his creative and professional horizon.

The year 2014 marked a decisive turning point in his career: he co-founded the “Claraboya Atelier” gallery and joined the “Itinerante Latinoamericano” collective. These initiatives not only enriched his collaborative network but also enabled him to showcase his work on international stages. Between 2015 and 2022, his works have been exhibited in various countries, with notable showings in Argentina, France, Mexico, and Chile.

Valentín lives and works in the Valparaíso region of Chile, between the sea and the mountains, always in contact with nature.
